New Product Introduction

GD Group realizes the critical importance that New Product Introduction (NPI) plays in optimizing a new product's time to market. Our dedicated New Product Introduction (NPI) team manages every detail of New Product Introductions, from prototype runs to pilot production. The New Product Introduction team includes mechanical, electrical, software, quality, and manufacturing engineers, working together to ensure the highest degrees of technical excellence and execution. When we help customers launch complex products, we can provide substantial engineering, technology and manufacturing expertise to achieve that customer's vision. 

GD Group has extensive experience with design, quick turn prototyping, product verification, volume production and logistics. We have assisted several of our clients throughout the years with the New Product Introduction Process. GD Group's typical approach involves three phases:

Phase 1: Preliminary Review

· Detailed review and documentation of the product requirements

· Identify requirements, conflicts, and risks

· Review BOM and cost estimate to ensure no pricing changes and item availability for purchased components

Phase 2: First Article Build

· Record, document, and update assembly procedures

· Evaluate and perform design verification

· Preliminary testing- definition and execution of testing procedures

· Update all documentation in preparation for production build

Phase 3: Production Build

· Review BOM and develop a procurement plan identifying any cost savings for higher- volume purchasing/long lead time items

· Finalize testing procedures and requirements

· Create detailed production schedule for years 1-3
